Domiciliary Care and Supported Living
Domiciliary care offers a valuable source of companionship and security. The opportunity to see a familiar face every day, or even a few times a week, brings comfort, a feeling of safety, and friendship.
With domiciliary care, you or your loved one continue to stay where you feel most comfortable – at home. If you or your loved one finds it difficult to complete daily tasks, you may wish to seek domiciliary care in the familiar environment of your own home.
Elderly care is a form of social care that our caregivers go above and beyond to provide, alongside much-needed social companionship. We thoroughly invest in our carers to give our clients the best mental, emotional, and physical health they can.
Regular home visits from a fully trained Community Lifeline care worker ranging from 30 minutes to several hours a day, can be scheduled to help you with a variety of everyday tasks including…
- Personal and continence care
- Managing medication
- Mobility in and around the home
- Household tasks and meal preparation
- Clinical care, including catheter and stoma management and PEG feeding
Integrated Domiciliary Care
Integrated Domiciliary Care (IDC) is where different organisations work together for the sole purpose of providing an individual with the very best support.
IDC aims to put the individual at the centre of their care plan with different professionals working seamlessly together to achieve the same outcomes.
Many different professionals in healthcare are involved in an integrated care plan. This is so that different services can work cohesively together to achieve the best outcome for individuals. They may come from the NHS, private health providers, and even the local council, such as a…
- Carer from a private home care provider, such as Community Lifeline
- GP or district nurse
- Social worker
- Physiotherapist
- Occupational therapist
- Local charity
- Community mental health team
- Housing support officer
It is important to have fluidity between different services that someone may need in order for them to receive the most comprehensive and effective care, including but not limited to, physical, mental, and holistic care.
As a client’s needs change, so do their healthcare providers also change. For example, if someone needs to recover from a serious illness that has affected their mobility, they may need round-the-clock care from a carer, with additional help from a physiotherapist, and weekly check-ups with their GP. If the client gets better, their carer’s hours and physiotherapist may reduce, and their GP may request more regular check-ups.
